What Is a Sand Processing Plant?
A sand processing plant is an integrated system used to prepare, screen, and classify sand or mineral aggregates into specified particle size grades. Depending on the raw material, the production process may include crushing, material elevation, multi-deck screening, oversize recycling, dust collection, and finished product storage.
For pre-processed dry sand, material can enter the screening system directly. For raw stone or oversized aggregates, crushing equipment is added before grading. We configure each sand screening plant according to the feed conditions, required product specifications, and available installation space.

Sand Processing Plant Flow & Working Process
Our sand processing lines follow a continuous process from raw material feeding to finished product collection. Crushing equipment prepares oversized material, conveyors and elevators transfer the feed between processing stages, and vibrating screening machines separate particles into the required grades.
The process can be configured for direct dry sand grading, crushing and screening, or multi-stage mineral classification.
Raw Material Feeding & Crushing
Raw stone, crushed aggregates, or pre-processed sand are introduced through a feeding hopper or feeder. For larger feed sizes, a jaw crusher provides primary crushing, followed by secondary or fine crushing where required.
We select the crushing arrangement according to material hardness, maximum feed size, and the required particle size entering the screening system. Pre-processed sand can bypass this stage.
Material Conveying & Elevation
Belt conveyors transfer sand between crushers, screening machines, and storage areas, while bucket elevators lift dry material to elevated screen inlets or distribution hoppers.
We select conveyor dimensions, conveying capacity, lifting height, and discharge positions according to the production line layout. Buffer hoppers can be added to maintain a more consistent feed rate between processing stages.
Sand Screening & Multi-Grade Classification
The prepared material enters a gyratory screen, probability screen, or other suitable vibrating screening machine. Multiple screen decks separate the material through selected apertures, with each discharge outlet collecting a specified particle size fraction.
We use gyratory screening systems for fine silica sand, quartz sand, and multi-grade classification. Probability screens are available for higher-capacity grading of suitable manufactured sand and granular minerals.
Oversize Recycling & Product Collection
Oversized particles can be returned to the crushing stage when further size reduction is required. Qualified sand fractions are discharged separately and transferred to collection bins, silos, or downstream conveying systems.
For multi-grade production, we arrange separate discharge routes to reduce mixing between different finished product sizes.
Finished Sand Storage & Loading
Finished sand is transferred to storage silos, stockpiles, or loading stations. Belt conveyors and optional container loading conveyors connect the grading system with downstream material handling operations.
We consider discharge height, material flow, dust containment, and vehicle access when arranging the finished product handling system.
Main Equipment in a Sand Processing Plant
A complete sand processing line combines material preparation, screening, conveying, and product collection equipment. The machine combination depends on raw material characteristics, required product grades, and target processing capacity.
Sanyuantang supplies a range of vibrating screening and conveying equipment for new sand processing plants and existing production line upgrades.
